Our Principal
James Lane BA LLB (University of Sydney)
James was admitted into practice in 1990 after completing his law degree at the University of Sydney. After practicing in a large national law firm he move to Lane & Lane Solicitors and is now the Principal of Lane Legal. James oversaw Lane Legal’s expansion from its principal Sydney CBD office into Hornsby in 2016.
James practices in the areas of estate planning, wills and probate, and estate administration services and family provision claims. Throughout his career, he has also practiced extensively in the area of commercial law including business sales and acquisitions, joint ventures, shareholder agreements, distribution agreements, franchising and commercial leasing. James is committed to providing personalised and high-quality service to his clients, the majority of whom are longstanding clients of Lane Legal.

Summer Sanbar Carovigno LLB (University of Western Sydney)
Summer graduated with a Bachelor of Laws and a Graduate Diploma in Legal Practice. She was admitted to the Supreme Court of NSW in 2008 and her name entered in the High Court Register of Practitioners in 2015. Summer is also a current member of the Law Society of NSW.
Summer has over a decade of legal experience with the Australian Taxation Office, law firms and large professional services firms. She works in our city office practicing in the areas of commercial law, wills and estates. She is committed to providing high quality legal service, good communication and accessibility.

Sophie Depiazzi
Sophie is an experienced paralegal and has worked in legal firms for over 25 years. She specialises in wills, probates and estate administration. Sophie is based at our Hornsby office, and is passionate about providing timely and efficient solutions for our clients.

Sirong Lee
Sirong is a paralegal based at our Hornsby office primarily working in the areas of wills, probates and estate administration. Fluent in both Mandarin and English, Sirong provides support and assistance to our clients and legal team.
Student Paralegal
Hayley Lane
Hayley is a Juris Doctor candidate at the University of Sydney. After working in public relations and communications for clients including Mastercard, PepsiCo and Amazon Web Services, she is now beginning her legal career. She has a degree in Arts – media and communications from the University of Sydney.
